What to Expect

The best season for Panwali Kedarnath Trek is Autumn when the sky remains clear and the Himalayan meadows is covered with fresh colourful vegetation. The trek starts from Ghuttu and reaches to Shri Kedarnath via Triyuginarayan which is of great religious importance it is same venue where wedding ceremony of Lord Ram and Maa Parvati Devi took place and the wonderful thing of the temple is that the place where Havana Kund in front of the temple still burns.

  • The architectural style of Triyugi Narayan and Kedarnath is very similar.
  • The Panwali is known for breathtaking Sunrise and Sunset view.
  • Short Trek and can be levelled as moderate to semi moderate.
  • Being an easy and semi altitude trek, winter season is open.
  • In your entire route you get a tremendous views of magnificent Himalayan peaks which is always a rewarding for trekkers.
  • On the way you trek through dense forest, steam and waterfalls.
  • You get 360° Himalayan Mountain views without any interruption.
  • For trekking we suggest recommends to walk from 7-8 kms per day without interruption.
  • For strength endurance jog for 5 kms in just 30 minutes. You should feel active and energetic post jogging.
  • Make you muscle flexible doing some flexibility exercises.
  • You need to pack your trekking essentials like trek backpacks, Head lamps or torch, Light expedition jacket, Trekking shoes, Trek Pole or Stick, Sunscreen, Antiseptic Cream, Sun Glass, heavy winter lotion (Ultrasmooth Boroline is the best), Spray for aches and sprains, Scarves, woollen and water proof hand gloves. Lip balms, light towel, toothbrush and small tooth paste, Water bottle, Plastic Sheets, Raincoat and extra plastic, Mobile Bank, Hand Sanitizer, soap, lunch box and dry food which boost your instant energy.
  • Light medicine kit having Diamox for Acute mountain sickness, Avil for motion sickness, Combiflam painkiller, Disprin headache, Norflox for diarrhoea, Digene, Bandage Cotton, Band Aid, ORS, Antifungal Powder.
  • Lastly but not the least you need to have patience and motivation if you are in love with nature you will not suffer from any of the above sickness or anxiety. Here Courage is victory.
  • Protect Himalayas if you are carrying plastic do not litter and bring them to base camp and discard it properly or decompose them properly and at designated places.
Day 01: New Delhi to Rishikesh (260 kms)

After breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Check in hotel. Pm: Visit to Parmath Niketan for Ganga Aarti darshan. After Ganga puja return to the hotel. Overnight hotel.

Day 02: Rishikesh -Ghuttu (Drive: 5-6 Hrs.)

Early morning drive to Ghuttu, a small Garhwali village and starting point of the trek. Enroute lunch. Explore the village. Overnight at Camp or Garhwal Lodge.

Day 03: Ghuttu -Panwali Kantha (Trek: 6-7 hrs.)

Early morning leave embark on to trek for Panwali. The trek today is very steep. About nine kilometers of steep ascent takes us to Panwali. Arrive and camp in the meadow near a stream, as the entire meadow is full of crystal-clear springs. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 04: Panwali Kantha-Magguchatti/Triyuginarayan (trek : 4-5 Hrs)

After breakfast a gradual descending towards Magguchatti . The entire trek is on rocky terrain and is strenuous. Arrive Magguchatti and camp. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 05: Magguchatti- Gaurikund

Early morning after breakfast trek to Trijugi Narayan, a legendry village where Shiva & Parvati were wedded. Arrive and visit the temple. After exploring the village, we trek to Gaurikund. Today we camp little before Gurikund, near the river. Meals and overnight camp.

Accommodation: Camping

Day 06: Gaurikund -Kedarnath (Trek: 5-6 Hrs)

Morning, we visit the Gaurikund temple and the hot springs. Afterwards we proceed for Kedarnath. The entire trek is gradual ascent till we reach Kedarnath. Arrive Kedarnath & camp. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 07: Kedarnath

Day free to visit the temple and explore the area. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 08: Kedarnath / Gaurikund (Trek 5-6 Hrs)

Return trek from Kerdarnath to Gaurikund. Arrive Gaurikund and have a refreshing dip in the hot spring pool. Meals and overnight camp.

Day 09: Gaurikund-Rishikesh (Drive: 8-9 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast we drive down to Rishikesh. Arrive Rishikesh and transfer to Hotel for meals and overnight stay.

Day 10:Rishikesh-New Delhi

Breakfast & drive to New Delhi. On arrival hotel check in. Rest free at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
