What to Expect

The rafting is not for wear heart person one should be mentally and physically strong. The Kameng River criss crosses some of the most remote dense forest and you have to be very positive and carefully listen and trust to our organizer and guide.

Kameng River Festival is a celebration of music, adventure sport, and local culture named after the sky-blue Kameng River. Rafting is a teamwork stimulating expedition where you are non-swimmer or amateur, teenager the sports is for everyone. This is pure safe and sound provided you listen to your instructor guidance and one should always take proper safety measure no child plays here.

Most of the time river passes through deep gorges and thick forest and there is grade from level 1 to IV which everybody needs to be manoeuvred very carefully. The night will be spent in a camp by river side. The regions are predominant by Aka, Mizi, Nyishi, Galo, Sajolang, etc. They are by far the humblest person do not hurt them by any mean as they are also very short tempered.

  • This expedition can only be done in group at least 20 members required to organize this expedition.
  • Since the region is remote one should be fit and fine by health.
  • Before venturing to these sports, you need to check your patience and ability to go for this.
  • The rafting is a team spirit and you will enjoy in a team. Coordination is very important.
  • Meals will be all Indian with veg and non veg both.
  • Tenting accommodation will be offered during the rafting tour. Else where you will be staying in hotel or lodges.
  • Mode of transportation to and fro rafting point will be by Bolero or Sumo NON AC.
  • No carrier is allowed so you might need to hire separate vehicle for your luggage.
  • The best season is from November to March. During rainy season no rafting expedition in India is done.
Day 01: Reach Guwahati visit to Kamakhaya Devi Mandir

Arrival at Guwahati-Guwahati is well connected from most of the important cities of India. Once you arrive we will take you to the hotel after wash n change proceed for darshan of  Kamakhya Maa (5 hrs)  and stay the night at a hotel on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra river.

Day 02: Drive from Guwahati to Nameri (6 hours – 220 km)

Today after an early breakfast you will leave for Nameri Camp located near to the bank of mighty Kameng River, once you arrived, we will take you to few of the important landmarks in and around. Overnight at Nameri Camping. Overnight at the Eco Camp.

Day 03: Nameri to Seppa (Enjoy the ride through thick evergreen forest of Arunachal Pradesh)

Drive through pictures lively scenic beauties once you arrived you will check into the camp where you will be served with local delicacies. Night spent at camp after briefing and advisory brief up.

Day 04: Rafting Starts airport

This morning we are ready for rafting expedition mentally prepared and with our all the provision being packed. The day you will encounter a rapid class of 3 and 4 till we reach to beautiful camp site called Bana which is a confluence of the Tenga River with the Kameng. Overnight tented camp.

Day 05: Rafting in descended mode with gorge

Leave for another camp and descend through the jungle gorge with plenty of rapids in different format. The day ends at the end of the gorge with the sum of today’s summary we retired for the day. Overnight Camp.

Day 06: Leisure Day

Well, the day being used to explore different flora and fauna a good day to spent photographing rare found birds. You spent your day among the sounds of chirping birds and meandering river. Overnight caping.

Day 07: Day full of excitement and thrill

The day going to be full of thrill you will encounter the rare class of rapids you will get almost almost all the form of challenge and that’s what Kameng expedition is all about.  Big water, some scouts and a very good day on the water. Overnight Camp.

Day 08: Time to say goodbye to Kameng river

The day you will again get the opportunity to say good bye to some of the rapids before finally gives into picturesque flat river with all around stills as you had experienced unlike past. The day you will be transferred to Tezpur for night stay.

Day 09: Tezpur-Guwahati by surface (180 kms)

After breakfast you will leave for Guwahati for onward journey with the memory that may be difficult erase as long as you are alive

The Kameng river expedition is meant for expert as it involved some of the most difficult rapids to come across Grade I to IV. Also, the charismas of the verdant and picturesque forests along the river bank, and some of the playful river-beaches add more delight to this rafting tour. The Kameng river post Seppa enters into the deep forest and gorges is quite isolated and that’s make the place a very special from rest of the world. This adventure rafting experience is suitable for those adventure enthusiastic who had guts and willingness to explore the unknown places.
